TEAM OF THE DECADE 2010-2019 Europe top 5 leagues.

Image
Team of the decade, Europe top 5 leagues 2010-2019 As the decade comes to an end, just felt like looking at players who have distinguished themselves in the different positions they play. Some on this list have so done well this decade that they will easily make anyone's team of the decade, players like Messi, Ronaldo, Dani Alves and a few others don't even have competition for a place in this team. As usual the midfield area is always a place that don't lack competition, some of my midfield choices might not be yours, but that's what it is, these are the players i think have merited being called the best in the various position they play for this decade.  GK: Manuel Neuer Neuer is undisputably the best goalkeeper of this decade. Even though recent seasons haven't been too nice to him, in addition to the poor 2018 world cup outing. What Manuel neuer has done this decade is unrivalled, spent virtually the whole decade at Bayern Munich and has

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEEK 6 PREVIEW 2019/2020

Image
UEFA Champions league 2019/2020 week 6 preview The final week of this season's UEFA Champions league is here, and we are all in for a treat. Which team make it to the last of 16? This is the week that totally decides that, which team will do the unthinkable and go through from their group? Will it be Salzburg or Atalanta? GROUP A .   Club Brugge KV  V. Real Madrid This game nearly irrelevant to Real Madrid as any result from this game won't affect their position in the table but won't mind just winning it though, on the other hand Club Brugge can't go through to the knockout stage but a win for them in this game automatically gaurantees that they make it to the last-32 in UEFA Europa league and that ain't bad for them. Expect Madrid to rest some key players for this game as they will want them to be fresh for their league game at the weekend where competition for top spot is till well on the line. Player to watch : Denis Bonaventure-  was the

IS JOSE GIVING US ALLI 2016/2017 ALL OVER AGAIN?

ALLI 2016/2017 SEASON ALL OVER AGAIN? Unlike most players making the huge jump from a lower league to a top tier league like the premier league, Dele Alli didn't waste anytime in establishing himself in a tottenham team at just 19 years of age and finished his first season in the premier league playing 33 premier league games starting the majority of them and scoring 10 goals in the process, this exactly is what i call "an immediate impact" since then he has been a starter till date. 2016/2017 was the season that Alli would always cherish, a season he scored 18 goals in 37 premier league games, 23 goals and 10 assists all competitions. All these were under Mauricio Pochettino, but these went missing the whole of last season and beginning of this season under Poch. Dele finished last season with just 5 goals in 25 premier league games, a player of Alli's status that stat is disturbing and he certainly can do much better, he already matched this his last season's g

SOCCER ISLAND (POCH STRUGGLE)

Image
Good morning everyone. Welcome to SOCCER ISLAND ⚽ where football drama never gets boring, even for you none football lovers... You may be wondering what Soccer Island is all about, but if I tell you right away, it will only take away the sting from what promises to be a very enthralling and intriguing sequencial unending drama of soccer. So I'll advise you read further and let your mind drift into the light of this piece of written action and feel your curiosity with voracious amazement with an unending fun, and delirium. Promise you, if you go on, you won't regret it. In an occupied area of land in the world, that looked like a desolated garden of Eden standing in the park of three linked Rivers stood, in different groups, two magnificent Noble buildings. The first building was a gigantic castle of marbles, flashy like Crystals and superiorly second to none. The second building away to the left was mightier and enormous than the  first building, but its wonders wer

Nigeria's Kelechi Iheanachor, possibly, Marco Silva's designated hangman

Image
All that was needed was a Nigerian spark of brilliance to lift the foxes to 2 points above the defending Champions Man City which might possibly send Marco Silver dangling 6,7,8 feet above the ground by tomorrow morning. Who's the executioner? You may ask. Possibly, it might be the job of Kelechi Iheanachor to pull the lever. (Fingers crossed). Marco Silva would be on his knees, perhaps not. But who cares, maybe Silva does. From the look of his face. He really does care. Sadly we would have to wait till the morrow. An enthrilling encounter between Leicester City and Everton saw the fate of Marco Silver take two turns. It all started in the 23rd minute when Richarlison made no mistake of Djibril Sidibé's cross from the right flank, as he fired home a bullet header to give Everton the lead. All roses for Marco Silver as he punched his fist into the air in relieve, seeming like an accused person who the Judge had discharged and acquitted from the claws of m

Unai Emery: Finally, the hangman successfully pulls the lever.

Image
It was only a matter of when, and not a matter of how. The decision had already been made, but the delay was the question of 'when shall the plug be pulled'. Well worry no more because the hangman has successfully pulled the lever as Unai Emery plummets 5ft on a rainy day, his dangling body breaking and burning up within from the inevitable cause. Arsenal had just lost a Europa League game to Eintracht Frankfurt on home soil, which culminated with the sequence of poor results, and the club chiefs thought it wise to part ways with the person they thought would redeem them from their mediocre state of "anything would do". Unai Emery's unfortunate demise  has been lit up with the appointment of Freddie Ljungberg as caretaker boss. A club statement, through spokeman Josh Kroenke read: “Our most sincere thanks go to Unai and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect and dema

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEEK 5 REVIEW, WHO IS THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND? WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR IN WEEK 6?

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEEK 5 REVIEW, WHO IS THROUGH TO THE NEXT ROUND? WHAT DO WE HAVE TO LOOK OUT FOR IN WEEK 6 Week 5  didn't disappoint in any way, exciting shows everywhere, starting with Sven Benders worldie to Dybala's amazing goal, a Messi masterclass, Inter's electrifying duo and Group H drama as usual. GROUP A In my preview i clearly stated that the game between Madrid and PSG is a battle for who finishes top of that group and PSG won this battle even though the game finished at a 2-2 draw. Madrid will have themselves to blame for not winning this game as they threw away a 2 goal lead in the closing stages of the game. Club Brugge and Galatsary game ended at a 1-1 draw and had 2 Brugge players sent off. The draw confirmed that both team can't go through to the round of 16 and would have to work for a third place finish in their last games of the group. Kudos to Kylian Mbappe on making his 100th appearances for PSG and the Madrid defense
